Кест (Роберт Нидгем Cust) — английский ориенталист; род. в 1821 г.; долго жил в Индии. Напечатал: «A sketch of the modern languages of East Indies» (1878), «Linguistic and Oriental Essays» (Л., 1880—1891), «Sketches of Anglo-Indian Life» (Л., 1881), «Pictures of Indian Life» (1889), «A sketch of the modern languages of Africa» (Л., 1883), «Poems of many years and many places» (1887), «Notes on missionary subjects» (1889), «Clouds on the horizon» (1890). «Africa rediviva» (1891) и др.
